Hawking: God did not create Universe

Stephen Hawking's new book The Grand Design has just been published. Last Thursday, Times' front page news had this title: God did not create Universe. I Have two philosophical objections to this. Some event, that did not happen, does not constitute news; and especially, something that did not happen a very long time ago.
